Off The Shelf & PhotoIreland Festival Grad Talk Series: Call for Submissions

Off The Shelf & PhotoIreland Festival Grad Talk Series: Call for Submissions

‘Off The Shelf’ & PhotoIreland Festival are accepting submissions for the 2011 grad talk series. The programme will run during PhotoIreland Festival from 18 – 22 July, everyday at 1pm.

The final date for presentation synopsis is the 15th of June.

Graduates and recent graduates are invited to submit a topic for a 10 minute presentation or thesis argument relating to photographic theory or practice in today’s photographic society. The presentation can be in any format and as creative and engaging as possible. Participants must be prepared to take questions after the presentation and defend their point of view or respond to questions relating to the topic.

This is an opportunity for graduates to engage with the critical dialogue surrounding photography rather than focusing solely on the exhibition of new work. Bringing the theory that underpins photography to the forefront allows us understand and evolve the way that we work both individually and collaboratively.

Deadline for presentation synopsis: 15 June 2011.
