Pinhole to Digital Workshop for young Adults

Children’s Workshop

Course Description
This is one of the most enjoyable and creative workshops held each year in the Gallery. It is a practical, hands-on course, where participants build their own pinhole cameras, take their own pictures, and develop and print their own photographs in the darkroom. As well as the magic chemistry of the darkroom, participants will also be introduced to digital scanning, manipulation and inkjet print output.

Who is it for?
The course is specially created for teenagers. No photographic experience is necessary. All equipment/materials are supplied. From their base in the Gallery of Photography, participants will travel by foot to selected locations for shoots,
returning to the Gallery of Photography darkrooms for processing and printing of their work. Because of the limited number of places students receive a high level of individual tuition.

What next?
Upon completing the workshop, participants’ work will be included in an online exhibition hosted by the Gallery. Each participant will received a printed copy of their favourite image and a gift voucher for a darkroom session.

When is it on?
The Pinhole Photography Workshop is a five-day course.

  • The first will take place during the week starting July 18th to July 22th from 10.30 to 13.30 pm each day.
  • The second on July 25th to July 29th from 10.30am to 13.30pm each day.

How much does it cost?
Workshop Fee: €110 per student

Bring a friend! Special Offer of 2 students booking together for €200
Course places are limited to 8 students.
If you would like to take part in either of these workshops please contact Darragh at the Gallery of Photography by Email: info@galleryofphotography.ie or phone him on 01 671 46 54.
