Ok, so this is the end for 2011.
A whole month with 5 weekends in it, one of them a bank holiday, all dedicated to converse around Photography. The great exhibitions, the international guests, the great photobooks… So much learnt, so much to learn. And so many people to thank for their support! It has been a great experience for us all. Due to popular demand, the exhibition ‘Martin Parr’s Best Books of the Decade’, on show at the National Photographic Archive (NPA), will be extended until August 14. We take the opportunity to thank all the staff at the NPA for their constant support to make this show a success.
It will take place at the Sebastian Guinness Gallery – Connaught House, 1 Burlington Road, Dublin 4. Booking is not necessary, but we encourage you to arrive at least 10 minutes before the start of the tour.
Photography in Contemporary Painting
Starts at 1:15pm, at The Douglas Hyde Gallery, Trinity College, Dublin 2. No need to book, but be there on time!
Michael Hill will present an introduction to how many contemporary painters use photographs – found or collected, personal snapshots, historical documentary pictures, record sleeves – as source material for their work.
